RT Academy Partners With the International Media School for Foreign Bloggers in Kaliningrad

The International Media School for foreign bloggers held a series of master classes in the Kaliningrad region from May 5 to 8, organized by the Directorate of the World Youth Festival and the SHUM Youth Media Development Center, with RT Academy as a partner.

Around 50 foreign bloggers took part in the project — from the UK and Belgium to India, Indonesia, Madagascar, as well as the Sahel region. Many of them are content creators with large audiences who share their perspectives on Russia with international viewers.

RT Academy joined the program on May 6 and 7. On the first day, our team focused on direct communication with participants: discussing their experience and approaches to content creation, and how they perceive Russia and their audiences.

On May 7, participants met with the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the region.

Later that day, RT Academy speaker Jared DeLuna, Technical Director of Social Media at RT International, delivered a lecture at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. He explained how to identify trending topics, adapt content for different platforms and audiences, and work effectively with short-form formats. He also highlighted the use of AI in content production and explained how to turn long news pieces into engaging vertical videos.

After the lecture, the session continued with an open discussion: participants asked numerous questions, engaged directly with Jared, and shared their own experiences. The conversation then continued informally, with several bloggers taking the opportunity to record interviews with him.

In addition to the educational program, participants explored Kaliningrad, visiting a branch of the Tretyakov Gallery and the Rostec Arena stadium.

The Media School offered a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and direct dialogue between Russian media professionals and international bloggers.
